The Thacher Park Trail Running Festival, produced by ARE Event Productions, was created in 2014 in conjunction with the Thacher Park Centennial Festival. In 2015, we expanded the event to use more of the park's trails providing even more opportunity to see all that the park has to offer.
It truly is a gorgeous course. (Check out these pics.) We welcome you to enjoy the park's beautiful and tranquil scenery on a summer's day by participating in either the 10K, 13.1M, 26.2M or 50K.

A festive atmosphere and AWESOME post race food! There are also medals for the finishers in the 26.2M & 50K. Do note that there is not a physical item giveaway.
While you may have them on-site at the event, you are not permitted to participate with pets or strollers.
Help us make it happen! To better accommodate volunteers, we have divided the event into 3 different volunteer shifts of only a couple of hours each.
All races start and finish at in the same place. Additionally, all races start together at the same time (8:30 AM) with a loop around the grass field between Horseshoe II Pavilion and Route 157 before heading out to the trails on the 'north' side of the park (towards Hailes Cave Pavilion.) All races share the same first 6 miles. The three longer races then go left to run along the escarpment trail, while the 10K runners bare right to head towards the finish area.
The 13.1M, 26.2M, and 50K continue on to the 'south' side of the park and complete a loop there. All three of these races run through the finish area at 13.1M. The 26.2M and 50K runners then repeat the entire course again. The 26.2M and 50K runners come through the finish at 26.2M, with the 50K runners then going back out for a 4.9 mile loop.
The following cut-offs are in place based upon the event's volunteer, logistical, and safety plans.

The courses are expected to change for 2025; not entirely, but several sections of the existing course are on trails getting modified by the park, including the removal of some trails - and creation of new ones.
This work is expected to be completed by late spring and we will then confirm the modifications to the routes and update this page.
What appears below was for 2024 and prior. This will be updated at least a few weeks before the event; the distance between locations will not shift considerably, but the actual locations may shift.

Nuun is available at locations A, C, D, G, H. These are the full service aid stations, which also include gels and other snacks.
